From a Dream to a Platform: The Founders’ Journey Behind DiMi

Every great project starts with a seed, an idea born out of lived experience, passion, and a desire for change. For Dream It Make It, that seed sprouted from the creative struggles of its very first artists: Dr. Huma Rizvi & Agnieszka

A Healer with an Artist’s Soul

Dr. Huma is, by profession, a healer. But her spirit pulses with color, form, and expression. As she reconnected with her love for painting, she longed to bring art into the world, not just keep it hidden in her studio. Yet the path to visibility was fraught: gallery fees were steep, waiting lists stretched endlessly, and rejection felt arbitrary.

These barriers were not just personal, they were systemic. Witnessing the frustration of one passionate artist, the founders realized a larger truth: many creators were stuck, not for lack of talent, but for lack of infrastructure.

When Support Becomes Vision

Enter Hussain, Huma’s husband and her dedicated ally. With tech instinct and a heart set on lifting her, he asked: What if we could build a bridge over these obstacles? His investigation into art-world systems showed that the processes of submissions, curating, marketing, and collaborations were all fraught with inefficiency.

Meanwhile, Agnieszka, a photographer with creative fire, was facing her own bottlenecks. Projects stalled from miscommunications. Collaboration ideas died mid-stream. She longed for a smoother, more harmonious way to connect with kindred creators.

By fate or design, Hussain and Agnieszka crossed paths. In their conversations, the vision crystallized: a platform to amplify creators, streamline collaboration, and shift the power toward the artist.

Building Through Doubt and Determination

Designing Dream It Make It was never a straight line. There were technical hurdles, UI/UX decisions, funding constraints, and moments when the dream felt too fragile. But the founders leaned on one guiding belief:

“If we can dream it, we can make it.”

That simple phrase became their north star. It reminded them that aspiration, backed by persistent action, can reshape industries.

One by one, believers fell into a march alongside, supporting their vision. Of them Roger Chen, Zainab Hameed and Hedrick Belerson became the true leaders supporting our ideas.

Slowly but surely, an idea grew into a team, sketches grew into wireframes, prototypes became features, and features became a living, breathing creative ecosystem.

What DiMi Stands For

At its core, Dream It Make It  is built on three foundational promises:

  • Empowerment: Give artists the tools and platform to control their narrative and audience reach.
  • Connection: Bridge creators across mediums, painters, photographers, designers, storytellers, to collaborate seamlessly.
  • Visibility: Break down the gatekeeping walls of traditional art exposure, making the spotlight more accessible to all.

In honoring the journeys of Huma and Agnieszka, we see DiMi not just as a product — but as a community, a movement, and a dedication to every artist who’s asking: “How do I show my work? How do I find partners? How do I be seen? How do I protect my intellectual capital?"
